The whole aim of the agency will be to put pressure on my school learners, community members and parents to appreciate the value of books and to grow South African book sector.

My school publishing agency will encourage different schools or individuals in my community to research and compile stories that will appeal to the community at large. The agency will commission school learners and individual in the community to submit stories that will excite, entertain and fascinate the community.

The agency will publish books that will be distributed, promoted and marketed in a specific community or region. All publish books that will be publish by my school will be outline with the audience in mind and the publish books will portray stories that are in line with the target market lifestyle, language and culture.

My school publishing agency will publish books that will be affordable and package to appeal to the target market.

Mobile Computer Library

My School : S'khumbuzo High School in Orange Farm

When it comes to black communities or townships schools we tend to focus on factors like hunger, domestic or community violence, overcrowded houses or classroom, the power of SADTU has on the government as factors that affect learners not to study.

We always forget to look at the crucial role the Department of Education plays in improving township schools. For starters the department’s failure to provide adequate teaching and learning materials to schools.

In this day and age we live in a knowledge base society and we need to develop alternative ways to provide teaching and learning workbooks/textbooks to schools, that’s why my school want to start a mobile computer library for schools in my community.

My school mobile computer library will assist schools in my community with excess to internet, latest electronic textbooks, online workbooks, tutorial lessons, mock exams with solutions for school learners.

Another reason the mobile library will work is that the last computer centre we had in my school thieves broke-in and took all the computers.
The mobile computer library will rotate in and around schools in my community and all services provided will be at a cost per learner.

Transport Service

My School: Vulindlela High School: In Orange Farm, South Of Joburg

I’m in grade 11and I’ve discovered that out of forty learners in my class these about twenty eight parents who commute or use public transport daily to work and out twenty eight parents, fifteen work in Joburg.

So my school idea that I’ve identified with my classmates is to start a transport service business. The whole idea is to buy or lease a 2006 VW caravan or Mercedes Benz Vito (mini-bus) to transport our parents to work daily.

My school learners intend to turn this idea into a viable, sustainable and profitable business. By managing factors like; petrol expenses, routes to travel, passenger time, safety, convenience and finances.

The reason my school learners firmly believe this idea will work it’s because will offer our parents transport service to work that is reliable, safe, convenient, no queues and most importantly if our parents support this business initiative they will be helping their children to be self-reliant and to develop their entrepreneurial skill.

Take Care "Kidz Agency"

My school: Qedilizwe High School Evaton North in Vaal

Take Care kid’s agency is not a Day-care centre or a Nanny agency. We take care of kids in the meantime while the kids parents have an emergency or the unexpected happens like at midnight a family member has an accident or the boss at work needs the parent to work late to meet a deadline or the parent is running late to pick up the kids from the day care centre or the parent needs to go shopping/ the hair salon / these an event the parent must attend.

Take Care kid’s agency will be a call away to assist parents 24 hrs, 7days a week with their kids. The agency will assist parents under the above conditions and all parents who join the kids agency will be oblige by those conditions and if the parent fails to oblige to those conditions his/her membership will be terminated.
The agency will work/hire University students studying early childhood development to practically polish their childhood development skills and to lead a team of five high school learners to assist the varsity student with his/her practical’s.
Parents that join the agency need to be located or living within 300 meters radius from my school (kid’s agency offices) and the parents that join the agency will need to outline their lifestyle patters to the agency and specify why they need to join the agency.
All parents that join Take Care kids agency will pay a monthly fee as an insurance to guarantee the services of the agency when they’re in need.

Designer Floor Enterprise

My School: Jabulile High School in Orange Farm South Of Joburg

My school learners plan to establish a wooden and ceramic floor designer enterprise. Learners at my school discovered that in South Africa these a shortage of housing. The majority of people who need to extend and build their houses are located in our Townships and most well known flooring manufactures or supplies are not present in black communities’ only hardware stores are present. We’ve identified that these a huge growth prospect for wooden floor and ceramic tile market.

My school Designer Floor enterprise intends to decorate our school teachers lounges or sitting rooms with interesting, unique and affordable wooden floor or ceramic tiles,

will use teachers sitting rooms as showrooms of our product service to potential customers and will also use teachers lounges as a platform for my school learners to learn and train how to transform ordinary cement floors into breathtaking floors.

Teachers lounge or sitting rooms will be a good showroom space cause of the constant number of visitors (parents and community members).

Designer Floor enterprise will also use the back space of school notice letters and display stands showcasing our product service inside Hardware stores located in our community, will also host competitions among different schools to showcase
which teachers lounge or sitting room floor is well transform and the colours are co-coordinating with the walls, the whole idea will be to create interest and awareness among community members.

Travel Stokvel Club

My School: Tharabulo High School Palm Springs in Vaal

My school initiative is to encourage a culture to travel within black communities in townships. The whole idea is to give parents of learners in my school an opportunity to experience travel time-out for mind, body and spirit to be recharge.

Stokvels clubs have been part of South Africa since the 19th century and the main goal of stokvel clubs was to save up for funerals cause funerals in black communities are a costly affair. But nowadays stokvel clubs have evolved to a group mostly women meeting once a month and a set amount is collected and dispersed to one member on a rotating bases.
So my school stokvel travel club set-up will be as follows as an example; if the club has forty members each contributing R200 every month and those amounts are collected and dispersed to one member on a rotating basis as a travel package.

The idea comes from my school learners who’ve observed their parents struggle day in and out to put food on the table and to put them through school. So my school learners have identified how vital their parents need to experience travel time-out to recharge.
My school travel stokvel club will operate as a travel enterprise/agency that will manage club members’ contributions (moneys) and offer them affordable travel packages

Hook-Up personal care shop

My School: Ahathuto High School Orange Farm

My school idea is to give learners from other schools in our community an opportunity to Hook-up or date learners in our pop-up shop database. The system will select comparable users based on their everyday hygiene needs. Because personal hygiene reflects how good people feel about themselves and when you feel good you look good and you get more out of life.

All personal care products sold/displayed at pop-up Hook-up shop will be trial base products and promoted in malls or busy commercial street corners. Hook-up shops will be school learners dating service. Participants will go on dates and buy each other personal hygiene gift packages.

Hook-up personal care shops main focus will be to distribute or offer trial base personal hygiene products of known brands and new products by using Hook-up shops to appeal to their target of School learners and at the same time to develop a personal care shop enterprise.

The set-up will be as follows, on the system when the user/participant log-on his/her information on the system and the system will give the user a comparable list of dates to choose from.
All users whether boy or girl will appear on the system saying, “you can hook-up with me, if you buy me a personal hygiene gift package of the following products to make me look “awesome” and “smell good” on our first date.

The whole idea of Hook-up shop is to pre-test how viable the personal care market enterprise in our community.

My School idea: Pop-up Vegan Restaurants

My School Idea : Raphela High School in  Orange Farm South Of Johannesburg

The reality in South Africa is that the majority of people are living on a diet which is monotonous and nutritionally inadequate even in summer because Supermarkets charge high prices and markets that produce fresh food (fruits and vegetables) are located far away and transport is not easily accessible. This has lead consumers to form a strong relationship with street vendors.

My school idea to succeed will depend upon the willingness of SA schools to form partnerships with fresh food market produces like the Jo burg Market to assist schools to buy their fresh food in groups (bulk) in order to get discounts. SA schools need also to use their school yards to grow vegetables, because agriculture should be the primary target to alleviate poverty, malnutrition and diseases.

Albert Einstein once said, “Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as a revolution to vegetarian diet”

That’s why we intend to establish a new street eating culture in our Township. We’ve identified that the best sources of healthy food in our communities are street corners or vendors not malls. That’s why we intended to establish pop-up vegan restaurants to shift old Township street eating culture from Chessa Nyama(Pap and meat) to innovate affordable vegan gourmet food quickly served.

Pop-up Vegan Restaurants will sms/use twitter and facebook to keep people updated as to which street corner or public meeting space will pop-up next and the menu for a day.

Our competitive advantage will sell vegan plates cheaper than (Pap & Meat) and will initiate vegan chef schools competition to create hype and interest in our community.

Tangible Liquid Assets Finance

The sole purpose of banks to exist or competes is to hold customers deposits and to promote economic growth, so the question is do SA banks operate that way?
The answer is yes if you are a formal economic player and no if you are in the informal sector. That’s why we intend to establish My School Ideas tangible liquid assets finance. The sole function of the assets finance initiative will be to assist school learners to develop enterprises stated below.

Since Shoprite supermarkets started moved into Townships, too many old/family supermarkets have closed down and buildings abandon. So why not turn those old supermarkets into residential rental property?

Pop-up gift/toiletry/hair care shop
Will set-up mobile stores that sell goods similar to Clicks.

In this day and age schools should not lack provision of teaching and learning material, when electronic books can be provided cheaper. (Mobile Computer Library)

Pop-up Restaurants
New street corner eating culture, why cause the best sources of healthy food in Townships are street corners not malls.

All the above enterprise ideas are from school learners in schools located in and around Gauteng, please bear in mind that financing tangible liquid assets failure is calculable.

A Gift to Learners

My school blog will engage and invite grade 8-12 learners across South Africa. Participating School learners will identify private companies that operate in their communities and develop experiential enterprise development ideas that Private companies can use or implement to meet their advertising or business case objective in a specific Community or Province.

Learners will submit experiential enterprise development ideas on this blog and invite Private companies’ bosses and Potential investors to follow this blog and highlight to school learners which ideas resonate with their business case objectives for a specific community and how those ideas can be executed to bring about social change.
I think Private companies’ bosses and Investors will want to support this initiative because they will be giving school learners a gift to establish a sense of belonging and being aware of their connectedness to their families, friends, communities and corporate SA.

Experts

Experts date back in the first century AD. Most of the time we like to behave like we trust experts, but at the corners of our mind these doubt.
Firstly we question the close association between Pharmaceutical companies and psychiatry. Secondly the former SA president Thabo Mbeki questioning the link between HIV and Aids, suspecting that science has been corrupted by its association with Pharmaceutical companies.
The Murdoch story and the most resent 2008 financial sector implosion caused by Harvard, Yale and Princeton graduates who flock to Wall Street.
Today we live in a world of large transnational corporate that still claim to function by the principles outlined in the 18th century. This principle simply states that business exist/competes to supply demand of the market place and making a profit.
While many years ago the originators of capitalism Britain banned shareholder companies cause of manipulation and theft.
The above stated scandals and failed economic systems, make me ponder the thought that these get to be an alternative.
My school initiative blog hopes to create an alternative business model, by giving school learners a platform to exchange and share ideas with Private companies to create social entrepreneurs in order to bring about social change.
